UMTmaxim
Privacy policy
Last updated 13 October 2026 (Android app added)
UMTmaxim is a free semester organizer for students of the University of Management and Technology (timetable, deadlines, date sheet, courses, files and results). It is run by an individual student developer, not by the university. This page explains what data the app handles and where it goes.
The short version
- Your semester data stays on your device, in your browser's storage.
- There is no UMTmaxim server and no database of users. We cannot see your data.
- If you turn on sync, your data is copied to a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive. Only this app can read that folder, and only when you are signed in.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and your data is never sold or shared.
What the app stores on your device
Everything you enter: your name, program and semester, courses, classes, deadlines, exams, marks, grades and the files you upload (books, slides, notes, timetables, date sheets, transcripts). It is kept in your browser's local storage and IndexedDB on that device. Files you import, including photos read with text recognition (OCR), are processed on your device; they are not sent anywhere to be read.
If you create an account with an email and password, the account is also stored only in this browser. The password is never stored itself: only a salted PBKDF2 hash is kept. Because there is no server, there is no password reset.
The Android app
The Android app (an APK file you install yourself) holds a copy of the web app and stores your data on the phone, in the app's own storage, separate from the website. Reminders are scheduled on the phone by Android; they are not sent from a server, and the app asks your permission to show notifications. The only network request the app makes on its own is to check umtmaxim.site/version.json for a newer version; it sends no account or semester data. Sign-in in the app uses an email and password stored on the phone only. Uninstalling the app erases its data.
Feedback
Settings → Send feedback opens your own email app with a message addressed to the developer. UMTmaxim sends nothing itself: you read the message, and optional technical details (app version, device, recent error messages, never your semester data), and decide whether to send it. If you do, the developer receives it like any email.
Sign in with Google
If you choose "Sign in with Google", Google tells the app your name, email address and profile picture. They are used only to show who is signed in and to keep your data under your account on this device. We do not receive your Google password.
Sync with Google Drive (optional)
Sync is off until you turn it on. When it is on, the app asks for the drive.appdata permission. This lets it create and read one hidden app folder in your Google Drive; it cannot see, open or change any of your other Drive files. Your records and uploaded files are copied there so your other devices can load them. You can remove the folder at any time: Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps → UMTmaxim → Delete hidden app data, and disconnect the app at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
UMTmaxim's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the features you see in the app, is not transferred to anyone else, is not used for advertising, and is not read by people.
Services the app relies on
- Cloudflare hosts the app's files. Like any web host it may keep standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and operation.
- Google Fonts serves the Inter typeface, and Google Identity Services and the Google Drive API are used only if you sign in with Google or turn on sync.
Deleting your data
Settings → Data & storage lets you export a backup or erase everything on that device. Signing out of a fully synced device removes the local copy. Clearing your browser's site data also removes it. To remove synced data, delete the hidden app data from Google Drive as described above.
Children
UMTmaxim is made for university students and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
